Hey Kids,
Once again, I couldn't sleep - I am back in Covington today after 2 days in New Orleans with Jason, Nanette and Cruz.
I went see where the Levee broke in Metarie and I was in shear awe of what I saw!
You guys remeber "War of the Worlds"?
Well, it's just like that!
There are holes in the ground everywhere, it's a Ghost town for miles and miles. Complete neighboorhoods are destroyed and abandoned - it's really, really bad.
There is a pretty big outreach going on from lots of people - they have tents set up and people can go get food and water.
I met some really nice people in downtown New Orleans though - you can go to
http://www.fairgrinds.comIt's a coffee house that is down the street from Nanette and Jason's and you can go there everyday, all day and get free coffee. The owner, Robert is anticipating re-opening soon. He is a nice guy.
Guess who showed up today? Lance!
He was in North Carolina working and just got back in town and is now working here in Mandeville.
We got word from Ellis that he "is okay". So, I am glad about that, hopefully he can come home soon and get on with his life.
